Zuzana Pobezal

When Zuzana eventually takes her “trip of a lifetime”, she will start with a flight to Peru to hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. From there, she’ll visit Chile and Argentina, mostly to visit the wineries and enjoy the food. After that, she’ll be off to the French wine regions, and finish off in Scotland, hiking the highlands and visiting Scotch distilleries with a tour based on her favourite “Outlander” book by Diana Gabaldon.

This would be a vast improvement over what she describes as her craziest trip to date. When living in England, she and a bunch of her friends decided within ten minutes to drive to Portsmouth to enjoy the sea and the beach. Not only did the trip ended up taking six hours each way, they arrived at night, had to sleep in the car (one in the trunk), and only had about two hours on the beach before they had to head back home!

In her youth, Zuzana won medals for pentathlon events which included long distance running, combined with first aid, shooting and other physical tests. And in one of life’s strange turns, while she met her husband in England, she has a photo of the two of them together back in their native Slovakia at the age of around 7 or 8, though neither has recollection of having met as children!
