In addition to name, address, phone number, email address and credit card information, we may need to know your nationality for possible visa requirements, airlines require your gender to ascertain load factor on the planes, insurance companies requires age and health information, hotels will want to know whether or not you are a smoker, airlines need to know about special diet requirements etc.
Consent: Forbes Travel considers consent to be an expression of permission to collect and use information for the purpose of providing travel products and services. Consent is obtained by:
- Written permission via mail, email or fax.
- Verbal permission with a dated notation in the clients file along with the initials of the travel agent who received the information.
- Third party consent, as long as the party is known to Forbes Travel and is in a position to give such consent such as a travel planner, secretary or a relative.
- Limited Collection: We do not collect information for any purpose other than to respond to requests for travel or travel products. Forbes Travel does not sell, share or divulge client information to unrelated third parties.
Limited Use Disclosure and Retention: Forbes Travel only collects information for the purpose of planning and booking travel, alerting clients to events that affect travel and to advise clients of travel specials and special offers. Client information will be retained for the period of time required to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected.
Accuracy: We try to keep our client information as up to date as possible. To that effect, we may contact you occasionally to ensure our information is accurate.
Safeguards: Forbes Travel has sophisticated security measures and procedures in place to ensure that your personal information is prohibited from misuse and from unauthorized access. However, no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed 100% secure. Our website contains links to other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site, and to read the privacy statements of the third party sites.
